چکیده

Background Right ventricular (RV) dilatation is a key imaging criterion of the 2010 modified task force criteria for the diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC/D), which makes accurate and reproducible volumetric anaylsis essential. We wanted to evaluate the effect of using new thresholding software in volume analysis compared to standard manual contouring on reproducibility and accuracy.

Quantitative myocardial infarction on delayed enhancement MRI. Part II: Clinical application of an automated feature analysis and combined thresholding infarct sizing algorithm.

PURPOSE To compare global and regional myocardial infarction (MI) measurements on clinical gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) images using human manual contouring and a computer algorithm previously validated by histopathology, and to study the degree to which visual assessment and human contouring of infarct extent agreed with the computer algorithm. MATERIALS AND METHODS Infarct si...

Low diagnostic yield of Late Gadolinium Enhancement (LGE) in screening patients with suspected Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR)

Background ARVC is a rare potentially life-threatening inherited disease of the desmosome. Right ventricular wall motion abnormalities combined with right ventricular dilatation or impaired function on CMR are diagnostic criteria for this disease. The role of LGE in this disease is still under debate. This study was performed to investigate the yield of LGE by CMR in patients referred with susp...

Late enhancement: a new feature in MRI of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy?

Aim of the study was to evaluate whether late enhancement (LE) in contrast-enhanced MRI can be used to characterize fibrofatty myocardial replacement in patients with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC). Fifteen patients with suspected ARVC underwent CE-MRI using a 1.5 T scanner. Long and short axis SSFP cine images and T1-weighted fast spin echo images were collect...

Dysinnervation in Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy An Analysis Using 1231-Meta-Iodobenzylguanidine Scintigraphy

Background In patients with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), the frequent provocation of ventricular tachycardia during exercise, the sensitivity toward catecholamines, and the response toward antiarrhythmic drug regimen with antiadrenergic properties suggest an involvement of the sympathetic nervous system in arrhythmogenesis. Methods and Results To analyze the presence,...

A classic case of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) and literature review

Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) is a relatively under-recognized hereditary cardiomyopathy. It is characterized pathologically by fibro-fatty infiltration of right ventricular (RV) myocardium and clinically by consequences of RV electrical instability. Timely intervention with device therapy and pharmacotherapy may help reduce the risk of arrhythmic events or sudden cardi...
